The Listening Fitness Instructor's Course and Certification

The courses will take place at The Listening Centre, 599 Markham Street, Toronto.

The LiFT Instructor's Course and Certification is open to practicioners who:

hold a university or college degree/diploma or professional diploma related to human development for remedial and/or well-being applications (these include but are not limited to the fields of education, counseling, psychology, audiology; speech, occupational, music or art therapy; naturopathic or homeopathic medicine, etc.)
OR
hold a university or college degree/diploma and/or equivalent combination of education and experience in the performing arts or your chosen field of skill development and skill enhancement (there include but are not limited to the practice of Voice, Music, Acting or Language teaching/instruction)
have at least 5 years of professional experience and agree to use the LiFT with clients for whom they have already developed an expertise;
attend the 3.5-day Instructors' Course and work under supervision for certification;
become members of the LiFT Network, an international network of certified Instructors.

Practitioners become certified Listening Fitness Instructors upon completion of the following 4 conditions:

1) Attending the 3.5 day Instructors' Course, where they learn to:

use the tools to assess listening fitness
create listening profiles
develop sound programs
operate the LiFT
include the LiFT in their practice.

2) Completing a "take-home" test in the month following the course. Each Instructor will receive individual feedback.

3) Working under supervision and support from the LiFT Network in the 18 months following the course. Typically, supervision consists of phone consultations and written correspondence.

4) Purchasing of Equipment from Listening Technologies Inc.

Cost:

$2,500.00 CAD tax included ( US price based on the current exchange rate). This price includes three lunches and 3 1/2 days of intensive teaching, all the "know-how" manuals (educational and technical), forms and documents to be used in the LiFT Practice, individual supervision in the 18 months following the Course, the book When Listening Comes Alive by Paul Madaule and the audiotapes Earobics Series #1 and #2.

Courses can be also provided on site at the request of individuals, groups or organizations provided that sufficient enrollment is guaranteed.
The LiFT Kit equipment is purchased separately. Accommodation and travel are not included.
